Wardrobe Wednesday: Wood Grain
Philadelphia-based Analog Watch Co. is introducing the first ever line of watches design with a truly soft and flexible wooden strap.  Founder Lorenzo Buffa, inspired by the mountainous region of Pennsylvania, set out to make a gender neutral design that highlights the beauty of simple woodgrain. To be one of the first to get in on The Carpenter Collection by Analog, check out their campaign over at Kickstarter.
We’ve presented his designs with two late 19th century woodgrain-inspired designs from our swatch collection.  We love how the layering of woodgrain in the above plaid creates a moire effect, and the planks are just too quirky.

Time to buy a watch!!

Amazing collab! Buy a watch friends!

1920-30s Art Deco 0.90ct Transitional Cut Diamond (H/I SI1) RingButterfly Filigree, 14K Yellow Gold and Platinum, $6250
You might recognize this mount.  We had it for sale last month with the original diamond, which was a little bitty thing.  It seemed like way too nice a mounting to have such a tiny diamond in it.  So now it has a 0.90ct period diamond that’s much better proportioned to the mount.
Rings of this style were originally marketed as upgradeable.  The top plates that hold the diamonds were designed so that lots of different sized diamonds could fit inside.  So someone might buy it with a 0.10ct diamond in it, and have the option of upgrading to a larger diamond someday.  It’s a very American idea— that forward looking optimism that says “someday I’ll have money for a bigger diamond.”
So even though the little diamond in this ring was never upgraded in the original owner’s lifetime, it has been now.
